MEET MONA DAN OF VIE HEALING IN BEVERLY HILLS

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mona Dan.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Mona. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I feel so fortunate to have fallen into such a perfect situation with my practice. Growing up I was always focusing on being in the medical realm, but there was always a little bit of hesitation about the approach. While I was in undergrad, I had to complete some specific units and I had heard about this one class called Eastern Philosophy. This class changed my life, literally.

Learning about the philosophy of heritage made me really reconsider the way the western world went about daily life. Suddenly, I found I wanted to learn more and spend my life learning more and more about the Eastern cultures. I went to the Middle East and to India to immerse myself and learn more for myself in person, in a more tangible way and I fell deeper in love.

Immediately, I saw how the Eastern cultures use the world around them to heal them, to find meaning, to connect and I wanted in!

I came back home to Los Angeles and spontaneously got an offer to work with an integrative clinic for rehab using acupuncture, Reiki, massage, yoga, Pilates and physical therapy to get patients back to health. I was there for 3 years and the results I witnessed from acupuncture alone, blew me away. I was terrified of needles, but I talked myself into getting a few treatments for an “undiagnosable” nausea I was dealing with because of a sickness I caught traveling a year before. In just 3 treatments, my nausea was gone, and the best part was that it happened painlessly. I was ready to learn more about acupuncture. I quickly went and applied for the Master’s program but they were hesitant to accept me because I was the youngest person who ever applied. They couldn’t refuse me because my grades were great, however, they were worried about if I could handle the concept, the wisdom. They told me to try one semester. I did and finished the program in a short 4 years.

After I finished my Master’s program, I decided to give myself a couple of years to work all over the city to see where and who I liked to work with best. I worked in Woodland Hills, Downtown LA, West Hollywood and ended up in my amazing location in Beverly Hills, with my own practice.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
The road was bumpy, but definitely fun and worth it. I’ve had to constantly remind myself to stay true to who I am and what type of service I wanted to offer. I always really believe in offering the highest care and quality to my patients. They are my top priority. Thankfully, most of my patients have followed me along the way and I’ve been able to build a beautiful practice that I love walking into every day.

I created and just launched my supplement and tea blend, which brings my practice into full circle. I collaborated with the most incredible companies to create and build my vision and the response has been incredible!

So, let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Vie Healing story. Tell us more about the business.
VIE HEALING is a Holistic MEDSPA that offers acupuncture, massage, cupping, moxa, Reiki, supplements and tea. We are known for our acupuncture treatments and overall quality of service. I am most proud of the response and love we share within our practice and the relationships we build with our patients. What sets us apart is the fact that we truly don’t care about getting people in and out, we really care about each patient and what is going on with them. We spend quality time and give everything we can to make sure we take full care of what’s at hand.

Has luck played a meaningful role in your life and business?
My favorite way to define success is when I see results; when someone finally gets pregnant or is able to walk again, or see fresh skin growing under skin that is damaged, for example. Also, when I get calls from patient and doctor referrals, it gives me a sense of motivation and confirmation of my work.
